The editorial policy of the “Open History” website is based on 7 points that ensure that all our content is rigorous, honest, reliable and transparent.

We base our editorial ethics on 7 points, which we will develop below:

All the historical information we publish is checked to ensure that it is true. In order to fulfill this objective, we try to document ourselves with primary sources, and we include in all articles a list of the basic bibliography consulted.

2. Specialized authors

Each author of the articles knows perfectly well the subject he/she is working on. We deal with experts in each field. People who demonstrate daily to be in possession of great knowledge in the subject on which they write. So that you can get to know them, we leave information about them and links to their social profiles and biography.

3. Original content

All the content we publish is original. We do not copy or translate other websites. We link to the corresponding sources in case we have used them, and we cite the owners of images, media and resources we use to give the most accurate information possible, attributing the relevant authority.

4. We do not clickbait

We do not use false or sensationalist headlines to attract the reader without having the article to see. We are rigorous and truthful, so the titles of our articles correspond to what you will find in our content. Furthermore, we do not generate expectations about content that is not in the body of the article.

5. Quality and excellence of content

We create quality articles and content, and we continuously strive for excellence. We try to take care of every detail and bring the reader the information they are looking for and need.

6. Error correction

Whenever we find an error, or it is communicated to us, we review and correct it. We have an internal error control system that helps us to constantly improve our articles, as well as to avoid their recurrence in the future.

7. Continuous improvement

We regularly improve the content of our articles. On the one hand, by correcting errors and, on the other hand, by expanding the content. Thanks to this practice, all web content is transformed into useful reference content for all readers, no matter when they read it.
